I am a first-year graduate student at the University of Wyoming, and I will be working with Professor Riebe. I love geology, especially volcanology! My background (BSC from the University of Wyoming; MSC from McGill University) is in using analogue and numerical modeling, and spectroscopic techniques (SEM, Raman, and XRD) to understand magmatic processes and associated volcanism. I am also interested in how large explosive silicic eruptions affect the climate, landscape, and human activity. I am looking forward to the opportunity to learn from, and work with the amazing group of scientists on the BCZN team. During this project, I plan to develop questions relating to the mechanisms and perturbations responsible for the duration of stability and instability of the CZ. In the future, I plan to apply the skills I gain while working in this group to observe the relationship between mantle processes, volcanism, and CZ.
