Jennifer Holguin is a PhD candidate at the University of Texas at El Paso. Her dissertation research focuses on examining the effects of anthropogenic nitrogen deposition on plant communities and biogeochemical cycling in the Chihuahuan Desert. Her main interests include striving to understand how global change factors (e.g., climate change, pollution) alter ecosystem processes and structure in desert landscapes. After receiving her PhD, Jennifer hopes to contribute towards work which monitors changing desert landscapes and resources and works to develop mitigation strategies to reduce unwanted or negative impacts.
