Hi, I’m Eli Boardman, and I conduct research in mountain hydrology. Currently I am a student of Physics and Environmental Earth Sciences at Dartmouth College. I will be pursuing a PhD in Hydrology from the University of Nevada, Reno, beginning summer 2021. I am particularly interested in advancing novel methods for the application of spatially distributed SWE data, LiDAR, and hyperspectral imaging to operational and research problems in catchment-scale hydrology. My current thesis research has resulted in new insight into catchment runoff efficiency in California’s Tuolumne Basin, ultimately leading to a forecast-oriented model for seasonal reservoir inflow. Along the way, I developed a novel method to recalibrate the rating curve for a high-discharge stream gauge that was notoriously difficult to measure.
