I am a geostatistician or a mathematical geoscientist, which means that I like playing with numbers while working on rocks. My research areas of interest are rock physics, seismology, geophysical inverse problems, uncertainty quantification, and data assimilation. At the University of Wyoming, I have gradually shifted my research focus from energy resources to carbon dioxide sequestration and now to near surface geophysics. My goal is to improve the petrophysical characterization of the critical zone, understand the spatial variability of rock and fluid properties, and quantify the uncertainty in the model predictions. My happy place is where I can find chalk and a chalkboard.
