I started my work with the Zhu Lab at the University of Wyoming shortly after graduating from Brigham Young University in April of 2021 with a bachelors degree in Environmental Science. I am interested in soil C sequestration and its potential to simultaneously mitigate climate change and improve soil fertility and resiliency. My current research focuses on understanding the role that Ca2+ plays in stabilizing soil organic carbon. More specifically, I am working to assess the quantity, quality, and persistence of Ca-bound carbon across environmental gradients. In the future, I hope to apply this understanding to international development efforts.
