BIG DATAI love my job to study the Earth’s plumbing and try to use that information to make our lives better. The Critical Zone is a lens to understand that plumbing, which is exciting. My focus is on the montane, headwater systems that our the water supplies to billions of people globally. I try to understand the fate and transport of water in these mountain catchments, often meaning I study trees and play in the snow.
