Abby Mangum is a graduate student at Brigham Young University studying geology. As an undergraduate, she worked on disaster mitigation, studying earthquakes and tsunamis in Indonesia. Born and raised in Utah Valley, Abby is looking forward to expanding her research, focusing on local dust hazards here in Utah. She hopes to better understand how dust is affecting our alpine systems and water quality. In her free time, Abby enjoys hiking, rock climbing, knitting, and painting.
