Kristen Underwood

Kristen is a water resources engineer and fluvial geomorphologist who applies computational tools across spatial and temporal scales to find emergent patterns in Big Data, that provide insights into important factors and processes in complex systems like river networks or catchments. Kristen enjoys collaborating with other Critical Zone scientists on data analysis and visualization – particularly Bayesian approaches, optimization, clustering and classification, or nonlinear regression techniques including neural networks.
