I am a Critical Zone scientist at heart because I love the variety of disciplines, approaches and perspectives that come together. My formal training however is in Geology, Mineralogy and Geochemistry, which I supplemented with Geomicrobiology and Biogeochemistry over the course of my career. Now, my research group investigates how the geosphere, biosphere and hydrosphere interact to shape the CZ and projects in my group include various CZ processes such as interactions between soils and streams, carbon and nutrient dynamics and rock weathering. I'm committed to working towards justice, equity, and diversity to strengthened and shaped CZ by scientists, educators, and learners of all identities and cultures.
