My area of expertise falls within the fields of inorganic mass-spectrometry, geoanalytical methods, geochronology, environmental geochemistry, and isotope forensics. I direct a core facility for the measurement of trace elements and heavy isotopes in environmental, engineered, biological and geological samples using inductively coupled plasma single and multi-collector mass spectrometry (ICPMS). In my research I use trace elements and heavy isotopes to answer questions related to hydrogeochemistry of surface and groundwater, mineralogy, paleoclimate, the ecology of aquatic and terrestrial systems, environmental contaminants, biomonitoring, provenance of dust, food and other goods, and forensic science.
