Derek Pierson is a biogeochemist whose research focuses on local to global scale impacts on terrestrial ecosystems from climate change and other disturbances. Pierson is a postdoc in Kathleen Lohse’s lab at Idaho State University and has a diverse background in soil science, environmental analysis, microbiology and data science. As part of the Geomicrobiology and Biogeochemistry CZCN Cluster, Pierson is broadly assisting the project with data collection, synthesis and analysis.
