I am a professor of critical zone science at the University of Wyoming. My research focuses on the processes that break rock down and move sediment across landscapes. My interests also include the connections between landscapes and life, which are central to the science of the BCZN. I am excited about working with the fantastic scientists on the BCZN dream team as we unlock some of the secrets of the deep critical zone. I am the associate director, and my specialty is in using cosmogenic nuclides and geochemical mass balance methods to quantify rates of erosion and weathering. This work will help put timescales on regolith formation and biogeochemical cycling within the weathering profiles imaged by the geophysics and sampled by the drilling campaign.
