The focus of the LTER All Scientists' Meeting(ASM) is the research and engagement of the NSF-funded Long Term Ecological Research Network and the component sites. However, many other organizations also pursue long-term environmental research and we welcome participants from other sites and networks at the meeting.
Rather than a series of research presentations, the ASM meeting is conducted in 90-minute community-organized workshop sessions over three days (September 20-22). Workshop topics range from basic and applied research in biogeochemistry, community ecology, and social-ecological sciences to communication, engagement, and data practices. We have secured the entire Asilomar Conference Center in Pacific Grove California for the meeting, so that participants meet, share meals, and recreate together -- assuring outstanding networking opportunities.
