The RC CZO will train its participants and cadre of graduate students how to communicate science to the public and development of effective outreach materials and put these new skills and tools to practice at science and environmental fairs, communiversity events, science centers, and outreach events.

Science communication and soil carbon

A 2 credit graduate seminar on communicating science and informal education provides the foundation for students to design and assess informal learning from videos, exhibits, modules.

Communication in practice at science and environmental fairs, communiversity events, science centers, and outreach events

Graduate student will put new skills and tools in informal education and science communication to practice at science and environmental fairs, communiversity events, science centers, and outreach events.

Web-based resource material and or module on soil carbon and critical zone science

RC graduate students will be required to develop web-resource material or module and/or exhibits on soil carbon and/or critical zone science as part of their participation on the RC CZO.
