Searching for A Post-Doc To Investigate the Interconnections Between Hydrologic and Ecologic Resilience

A team of university and USGS researchers is trying to identify a post-doc that is interested in a data synthesis project around the idea of coupled hydrologic and ecologic resilience to environmental change.  The project will be part of a Powell Center proposal that is currently not funded but requires identifying a post-doc for submission.  The two-year post-doc will be based at the University of Nevada, Reno under the supervision of Dr. Adrian Harpold.  The post-doc will use statistical and time-series analysis tools to investigate resilience metrics across headwater watershed networks, including the USGS HBN, Critical Zone Observatories, and LTERs.  A background in hydrology or ecology, familiarity with statistical analysis tools (i.e. R), and work with large datasets is required.  The post-doc is expected to be the lead on the analysis and writing of multiple scientific papers with the support of a diverse group of researchers and intensive meetings at the Powell Center in Fort Collins, Colorado.  At this stage, we are looking to identify a post-doc excited about the project.  However, decision on funding will not be made until March 2016 with an expected start date of October 2016.  Please contact Adrian Harpold with questions or interests by including a short CV to aharpold@cabnr.unr.edu <mailto:aharpold@cabnr.unr.edu>.
