Webinar: Data Resources and Accessibility Across Observation Networks and Platforms
When: Wednesday, Jan 17th @ 10-11 AM MT

The National Ecological Observatory Network (NEON) is hosting an interactive discussion on data resources and accessibility across observation networks and platforms. The goal of this webinar is to bring together scientists with data and information technology practitioners to spur discussions about the linkages between data and network resources and efforts to enhance data usage for modeling and model integration. Representatives (below) from the International Soil Modeling Consortium (ISMC), the U.S. Long Term Ecological Research Network (LTER), the U.S. Critical Zone Observatory Network (CZO), NEON, and EarthCube will each give short presentations addressing themes such as vision/plans for data and resources, innovations and successes in data delivery and information management, or barriers and challenges experienced or anticipated, with plenty of time for discussion and questions from webinar attendees.

The charrette will begin with brief presentations from the following panelists:

  • Teamrat Ghezzehei - University of California at Merced, ISMC
  • Corinna Gries - University of Wisconsin at Madison, Environmental Data Initiative & LTER
  • Christine Laney - NEON
  • David Lubinski - University of Colorado at Boulder, CZO
  • Miguel Leon - University of Pennsylvania, CZO
  • Eric Lingerfelt - UCAR, EarthCube

This will be the third in a series of charrettes in preparation for the joint CZO-LTER-NEON-ISMC workshop: Modeling the Critical Zone; State of the Art, Data Integration, and Frontiers being held February 13-15, 2018 in Boulder, Colorado.
