10Be on hillslopes

Jump to Description ▼

Schematic of hillslope segment and the processes relevant to the cosmogenic radionuclide concentrations

Models of 10Be on hillslopes require acknowledgement of transport within the mobile regolith

Cosmogenic radionuclide concentrations in hillslopes evolve by production, decay, and lateral transport of nuclides in regolith.

Mobile regolith, saprolite, and fresh rock are shown, along with processes of deposition of meteoric 10Be, production of in situ 10Be, release of mobile regolith from saprolite, and mobile-regolith transport that must be acknowledged in the theory we develop.
